G V Prakash goes 'Ugly'


G V Prakash Kumar, who has touched the 25th film mark in a short span ('Thaandavam' is his silver jubilee project), is going great guns in Bollywood too.

After 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and 'Joker', Anurag Kashyap, one of the leading filmmakers of Bollywood, has signed the young composer for his upcoming film, titled 'Ugly'.

Says a happy Prakash, "It is a modern subject and the script has thrown some challenges at me. I have already started working on Ugly. And am happy about it."

Back home in Kollywood, Prakash is working in a slew of projects. "I am happy that directors and producers are having confidence on me. I will always strive to fulfil the expectations. The rest is in the hands of the audience"

Taapsee all thrilled


Taapsee Pannu is in a state of thrill and happiness, as she is set to join the sets of Ajith's next film, which is being helmed by Vishnuvardhan.

The actress will shoot for the film from September 10. "'Finally with all the costume trials and discussions it`s all set to start, one of the most awaited movie of the year. Vishnu sir looks thrilled," she wrote on her microblogging page.

Taapsee further stated: "I'm nervous and excited at the same time! It`s gonna be all four of us, Ajith sir, Nayan, Arya and me! Cheers to a new beginning! Wohoooo! As I start my 14th project today I can still feel the butterflies like how I felt starting my debut venture. Somethings just don`t change."

The 'Aadukalam' and 'Vandhaan Vendraan' girl is playing a crucial role in the yet to be titled movie, which also has Arya and Nayantara in crucial characters. She is also part of a bilingual 'Marandhen Mannithen' with Aadhi.

Vijay-Vijay project to start in October


Director AL Vijay has completed 'Thaandavam' and is eagerly waiting for the film's release, on September 28. While actor Vijay is on the verge of finishing off 'Thupakki' with A R Murugadoss.

Starting second week of October, the two are expected to kickstart their already announced project, which is touted as a complete commercial entertainer.

Remember director Vijay is known for trying his hands at various genres. After a family flick in 'Kireedam', comedy entertainer in 'Poi Solla Porom', love saga in 'Madrasapattinam' and emotional story in 'Deiva Thirumagal', he has come out with an action adventure in 'Thaandavam'.

Now he is said to have penned a '100 per cent commercial script' having Vijay and his fans in mind . G V Prakash Kumar will compose the music, while a hunt is on for the heroine.

'Sillunu Oru Santhippu' fun single launch with Vimal & Oviya!




The single track launch event of 'Sillunu Oru Santhippu' is all set to take place on September 15 at the Loyola College in Chennai among young Chennaiites. Vimal and Oviya who play the lead roles will take part in the fun affair.





The track that goes 'Busse Busse...' is crooned by Vijay Prakash and reflects on Bus Day that's usually celebrated by college goers. Music is by FS Faizal.

The film also sees Deepasha as the other female lead and is produced by S Nandhagopal for the Madras Entertainment banner. Ravilallin is the director.

Arya: Anushka is a tough cookie


Arya is back to Chennai after a long shoot in Georgia for Irandam Ulagam and the effervescent actor is all praises for his co-star Anushka.

"She was the only woman among some 80 men in Georgia and she never ever complained, nor demanded for anything! Although the weather made it difficult for the guys, Anushka never had a problem", says Arya.

He also added that few romantic and intimate scenes between the duo was shot there but in an aesthetic manner.

Helmed by Selvaraghavan, Irandam Ulagam has finished its production phase and post-production work is currently on. The film has music by Harris Jayaraj and juggles between two time periods, with the lead actors playing tribals in their period scenes.

Powerstar replaces Nagesh in Thillu Mullu remake!


Powerstar Srinivasan who considers Superstar Rajinikanth as his only competitor (reportedly revealed by him in an interview), will now be seen in a pivotal role in a remake of Rajini starrer - Thillu Mullu.

Buzz is that Powerstar will essay the role that Nagesh did in the original, that of an artist. Powerstar will be seen as a friend of Shiva's and the latter gets inspired for a real life duel act after meeting Powerstar.

Superstar Rajinikanth's cult blockbuster 'Thillu Mullu' is being remade with Shiva, Isha Talwar, Prakash Raj, Kovai Sarala and Sathyan on board. The film by Badri is produced by Vendhar Movies and is an out and out laugh riot.

Vijay's intro & duet song shoot for 'Thupaki' at Mumbai


'Thupaki' shoot is all done but for two tracks. The team is now heading to Mumbai to shoot these two pending numbers, with this the shoot of the film will be entirely wrapped and the makers can ready it for a Diwali release.

One of the songs is Vijay's introductory number and will be shot in the roads of Mumbai and see him as a encounter specialist in there. It will have montages that show him as a Mumbai Tamizhan. Santosh Sivan will be filming it in the busy locales of Matunga in Mumbai.

The other track will be canned on Vijay and Kajal and will be a romantic melody. Both the numbers are being choreographed by Shobhi.

Some say ARM and Vijay chose Mumbai for the last schedule to accommodate the dates of all actors and technicians. Meanwhile, regarding the title issue, it's said that if the judgment isn't in the favor of the team on September 10, they might rechristen it as 'Saravedi'.


Directed by ARM, having music by Harris Jayaraj, the film will simultaneously release in Telugu and aims at a Diwali (November 13) release.
