Jananathan is back

For S P Jananathan, quality matters the most than quantity. In his career spanning a decade, the director has churned out just three movies, but all of them were known for their striking impact.

And after a long gap post 'Peraanmai', the filmmaker is now gearing up to start his next venture. "The delay is because Jananathan was busy researching for the movie," sources said.

Though it is said that Jiiva and 'Jayam' Ravi, the protagonists of Jananathan's earlier ventures 'Ee' and 'Peraanmai' respectively, will join hands for this film, there is no official confirmation about this.

"It is true that it's a dual hero subject and there were plans to cast Jiiva and 'Jayam' Ravi. But things need to be worked out, since both the actors are busy with other commitments," sources said.

'Thupaki' to become 'Saravedi'?

There are claims that those behind 'Thupaki' are so sure about releasing the movie on Deepavali day, despite a case pending in court, only because they have decided to change the movie's title.

It is said that the film might be rechristened as 'Saravedi', not just because the new title too is apt to the movie's script, but also to reflect the festival mood.

Starring Vijay in the lead role, 'Thupaki' is directed by A R Murugadoss and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. Kajal Agarwal is the leading lady, while music is by Harris Jayaraj.

The film hit a roadblock after the producers of 'Kalla Thupaki' filed a case, alleging that those behind 'Thupaki' had unlawfully registered the title.
