Shiva: I was told I'm the best Kung Fu artist in China!

Speaking about Thillu Mullu remake and playing a Kung Fu artist in some parts, Shiva jocularly expressed to IG: "I always ask my directors if they want me to sport six packs or build my body generally for the character, and this has happened finally. I went all the way to China to learn Kung Fu from Jackie Chan's kung fu master and boy oh boy, he couldn't stop praising me, they all told I'm the best Kung Fu artist of all times"!

'Vaalu' 40% wrapped! Single shortly

Nearly 40% of Simbu aka STR's 'Vaalu' has been wrapped and the team is gearing up for a single release. The song that goes 'Lovenraven Nee Yaru Da? Yen Munnadi Vandhu Ninu Paaru Da...' will be released shortly.
 
The team has edited whatever's been shot till date and STR is going gaga about it. He says, "Just saw Vaalu edit which we have shot so far, very happy with the output. Good job by Director Vijay Chander and Editor TS Suresh".

The film that has music by Thaman aims at a Diwali release and sees Tollywood ace comedian Brahmanandam and Jai in special appearances... The comedy sequences featuring STR and Santhanam will definitely bring the roofs down with laughter and will be even better than their work in Vaanam, say sources in the know.

Suriya denies 'Maatraan' as Vinayagar Chathurthi release

Even as it was announced and it went viral that Suriya Sivakumar's biggie, 'Maatraan' will see light of the day on September 19 as a Vinayagar Chathurthi special, Suriya and the makers have ruled this out.

 

"I'm not on any social networking pages, please don't be misled by my fake profiles on Facebook or Twitter", said Suriya. His fake profiles had spread the rumors that the film will release on September 19.

When contacted by IG, the official makers had denied the news as well.

Helmed by blockbuster specialist, KV Anand, the film stars Suriya and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles and sees Suriya as conjoined twins in some parts of the film... Music by Harris Jayaraj has already been declared as the biggest hit of the year.

Taapsee's role in Ajith's next

It was Taapsee Pannu's wish to become a journalist. Though she's unable to fulfill it in real life, she is doing one in front of the camera.



The 'Aadukalam' girl is playing a television journalist in Ajith's next venture, which is being directed by Vishnuvardhan. "I am thankful to the director for roping me in for the role," she says.

Taapsee adds: "Journalism is something which always attracted me a lot. I did enough homework for the role by observing many women TV journalists. Shooting for the movie is a great experience."

Besides this yet to be titled film, Taapsee is also part of 'Marandhen Mannithen'. Simultaneously being made in Telugu as 'Gundello Godhari', the movie's basic knot is said to be the floods in the 1980s.

Why Vijay chose Vijay?

After Gautham Vasudev Menon made it public on his microblogging page that his proposed project with Vijay, 'Yohan Adhyayam Ondru' was shelved, those in Kollywood are busy figuring out the reasons behind.

When we probed, sources had it that Gautham wanted to begin 'Yohaan...' as soon as he completes 'Neethanae En Ponvasantham' and Vijay finishes off 'Thupaki', that is sometime by September this year.

However, the 'Ilayathalapathy', who was impressed with a story narrated to him by director Vijay, wanted to start it before 'Yohaan...', an idea which apparently did not go down well with Gautham.

Following this, Gautham decided to shelve the project and to go ahead instead with 'Thuppariyum Anandan', which will have Suriya in the lead. He is at present giving finishing touches to 'Neethanae En Ponvasantham'.

Priyamani votes for Olan

Not many know that Priyamani is a great lover of good food and different cuisines. Though she has to strike a fine balance between appetite and diet to maintain her figure, the actress gives a try whenever she comes across some culinary excellences.



"My mother is my favourite cook and she does all cuisines really well. I eat the delicacies made by her whenever I find time. But at the same time, I am diet-conscious too," Priyamani says.

Among the many dishes cooked by her mom, the 'Paruthiveeran' girl's favourite is Olan, a Kerala delicacy. "I love Olan a lot," says the actress, who is eagerly looking forward for the release of 'Charulatha'.

In 'Charulatha', which is made in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, Priyamani plays conjoined twins. "It was a challenging experience," she says. The horror thriller will hit the screens in September.

Tamannah in, Hansika out

Tamannah has made a prize catch. The actress has reportedly replaced Hansika Motwani in the Telugu remake of 'Vettai', which has comedian-turned-hero Sunil and young star Naga Chaitanya in lead roles.



Earlier, Andrea Jeremiah and Hansika were roped in to play sisters, who will romance brothers Sunil and Naga Chaitanya, respectively. However, Tollywood reports now say that Tamannah has replaced Hansika, due to some undisclosed reasons. "However, Andrea will continue to do her role, which was portrayed by Sameera Reddy in the original," they add.

Tamannah and Naga Chaitanya earlier shared the screen space in a film titled '100% Love', which was a hit. Naga Chaitanya is the son of Tollywood top star Nagarjuna, it is to be noted.
